Father and son talk about the significant historical figures whom the father believes were chosen by God and were being looked after during the most significant moments, whether it be Christopher Columbus, George Washington, or Abraham Lincoln. The heroes who represent patriotism are Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, and more modern figures such as Ronald Reagan. The ills in society are attributed to corruption, government handouts, and the occasional demagogue. Despite the United States’ fall from grace, the father is optimistic about leaders who can right the country’s wayward course. In this frank conversation with his son, there is a desire to enlighten and inspire.
A father’s sharing of his knowledge and beliefs with his son forms the crux of this impassioned narrative. The discussion between the patriarch and his offspring is a history lesson mixed in with cogent opinions on where the country has gone wrong and the malefactors who have played a role in dividing America. The dialogue between the educated father and his inquisitive son allows the talk to possess a heartfelt feeling. Christian Terry Doyle is a man defined by his faith and his family. A proud father of four and grandfather to seven, Christian understands the deep desire to leave a better world for the next generation.
A native Utahn, educated at Lehi High School and Utah Valley University, Christian has spent the last thirty years in the medical field as a registered radiologic technologist (specializing in CT and MRI). He sees the inside of the human body daily, but his writing focuses on the heart and soul of the nation.
As a devoted Christian and member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Christian brings a perspective rooted in scripture, family values, and patriotic duty.
